The House is open on all public holidays not including Christmas Day and Good Friday.

Access updates

The William Robinson Gallery will be closed from Monday 23 August to Saturday 4 September inclusive, while a new exhibition is installed.

The Gallery will reopen to the public on Sunday 5 September with Hinterland: The Rainforest Works of William Robinson.

Admission

General admission to the House including the William Robinson Gallery is free.

Cafes in the Area

In the Old Government House Courtyard, Bar Merlo offers coffee and light refreshments from Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm.

Located 100 metres from Old Government House, Artisans offers a fully licensed alfresco dining option. Open Monday to Friday during Semester from 7.30am to 5-6pm. For more information please visit Artisans.

On the weekend Dancing Bean Expresso serves coffee and light snacks from the City Botanical Gardens Kiosk from 9am until 3pm.
